First Indigenous Community-Controlled Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Centre for Women in NSW
Hartcorp were excited to be involved in this project providing project management services to deliver the 20 bed rehabilitation centre completed in April 2022. The centre’s goal is to empower the residents, to address their issues and the underlying trauma and then return them to their families and the community as active and positive members.
The project is Federally funded and is being delivered through the Gulgul Nyugang Aboriginal Corporation trading as The Glen for Women.
The scope includes:
- New construction of an accommodation building containing:
10 bedrooms (20 beds)
Wet areas
Living rooms
Laundry
Multipurpose room
Large residential kitchen
Dining area
Staff sleepover
- New construction of a block of four consultation rooms
- Refurbishment of the existing house into an administration building
- Construction of appropriate access, driveways, staff car park, onsite sewer system, water storage / treatment and ancillary landscaping
- Demolition of the existing barn and replace with new shed
Hartcorp have been involved in many projects but it is rare to be involved in one that will make such positive change to women, their families and the greater community over many generations.
Hartcorp are proud to play our part in delivering this dream!
